Liposuction body contouring
Suction Assisted Liposuction (SAL) and/or Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction (UAL)Liposuction Procedure: Improve body shape using tube & vacuum device to remove unwanted fat deposits that don’t respond to dieting & exercise. Locations include chin, cheeks, neck, upper arms, above breasts, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves, ankles. UAL allows for softening of fat allowing less traumatic removal with SAL.

Length
1 to 2 hours or more depending on extent of surgeries

Anesthesia
General or local with Sedation Usually Outpatient Surgery

Side Effects
Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness, soreness, burning sensation.

Risks
Infection. Excessive fluid loss if too much done. Fluid accumulation. Injury to the skin. Asymmetry. Pigmentation changes (may become permanent if exposed to sun), contour irregularities.

Recovery
Tasks of daily living may be resumed immediately. Back to non-strenuous work (no lifting greater than 10 lbs) in 3 to 7 days. No strong pushing, pulling or repetitive upper body movements for 3 weeks.

Exercise
Resume 1/3 intensity @ 3 weeks. Low impact activities @ 1/3 duration of exercise, repetitions, amount of weight and pulse rate. 2/3 intensity @ 6 weeks. Full intensity including high impact (running, horse back riding, high impact aerobics) @ 8 weeks

Bruising
2 to 4 weeks

Swelling
Moderate/Significant 4 to 8 weeks, Subtle/Mild 2 to 3 months, all of which are dependent upon extent of procedure(s).

Duration of Results
Permanent, with sensible diet and exercise.

Office Visits
1st 3 to 5 days / 2nd Visit 10 days Anticipated # of office visits: 3 to 5 the first 3 months then yearly.

Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty Procedure
Flatten abdomen by removing excess fat, skin & tightening muscles of abdominal wall. Combined with liposuction for best contouring. (Insurance if hernia is present, may be applicable.)

General In/Outpatient : Either depending on individual circumstances & extent of surgery, or combined surgery.

Side Effects
